Wivenhoe's almshouses are managed by the Wivenhoe Housing Trust, a member of the national Almshouse Association, member no. 488, and a registered charity, no. 1157022. 

Our objective is to provide homes for Wivenhoe people who have not been fortunate enough in their lives to have somewhere permanent  to live. 

These homes are:

The Mary Ann Sanford almshouses 

 

They comprise 6 one-bedded homes in Rebow Road for single ladies or widows (only) who are over 60 years of age.

Jonathan Feedham Court

 

These are 7 one-bedroomed bungalows for couples, or for single men or ladies, over 60 years of age. They are built around a courtyard, and are off Vanessa Drive.

 

Note: We advertised a vacancy in one of these homes in October 2025 but this vacancy has now been filled.  We have no other vacancies at the present time.

Raven Court

In late 2026, we hope to have completed the building of 6 new almshouses to be called Raven Court, behind Cross Farm, Colchester Road, Wivenhoe. These will be one-bedroomed properties for couples, or single men or ladies, over 60 years of age.
